Today, Ndigbo in Lagos and across the South West can breathe fresh air.

For 12 solid years, we lived under the weight of confusion, petitions, and the dictatorship of a selected few. Our image was battered.

Our unity was fractured. Our properties and businesses were threatened by needless crises manufactured from within.

But today, that era has ended.We rise with one voice to praise and thank Senator Azuta Mbata, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, and the entire Global Executive Council (GEC) for their courage, wisdom, and decisive action.

You did not look away. You did not compromise. You stood for truth, and you restored order.By your resolution in Enugu, you have saved Ndigbo resident in Lagos and the South West from embarrassment, division, and the grip of self-serving individuals who for 12 years held our collective destiny hostage.

You have protected the name of Ohanaeze. You have protected the properties and interests of our people. You have protected the dignity of our sons and daughters doing business and building lives far from home.

To Senator Azuta Mbata: Thank you for leading with integrity. Thank you for listening to the cries of the people. Thank you for choosing peace over politics, and truth over falsehood.

To the GEC; thank you for standing firm. Thank you for defending the constitution of Ohanaeze. Thank you for proving that leadership means service, not domination.Because of you, the market woman in Alaba can trade without fear. Because of you, the young graduate in Ogun can dream again. Because of you, the elder in Ibadan can hold his head high and say “I am Igbo” with pride.

Ndigbo in Lagos and the South West are no longer in bondage to one man and his circle. The jinx is broken. The siege is lifted.We pledge our total support to your leadership. We pledge to work with Chief Leo Okafor, aka Oba Ojoto, and the Lagos Executive to rebuild, to unite, and to project the true values of Ndigbo. A stitch in time saves nine. You stitched our wound in time. You saved us. “Ndigbo bu otu. Ndigbo bu ike”.
