Oba Ojoto Campaign Team Debunks Prince Ubochi ,Opposition Group Allegations

Oba Ojoto Campaign Team has lashed at the ongoing deliberate provocation and unfounded criticisms orchestrated by some elements opposed to the landslide victory of Chief Leonard Okafor, at the just concluded Ohanaeze Ndigbo election in Lagos State .

The groups response is coming on the heels of recent write ups by one Prince Ubochi, circulating in the social media space.

Ohanaeze Lagos News Online Newspaper reports that the Campaign Team while setting the records straight, rejected “dissidents” name tag ascribed to the camp associated to recent legitimately elected President Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State.

Speaking on rule of Law, constitutionality, Court Orders ,Authority, Factions ,binding structures, the group blamed Prince Ubochi and Robert Obasi led faction for impunity and deliberately brewing crisis amongst Ndigbo,after their purported unlawful “Suspension” of an elected President , Chief Sunday Ossai and subsequent appointment of Chief Linus Igbudu,as their “Interim President.

RE: OHANAEZE LAGOS: LET’S BE CLEAR

Prince Ubochi JP called us “dissidents.” No. We are Ndigbos in Lagos demanding our constitutional right to elect our own leaders which the people did on the 6th April 2026.

On “impunity”: Real impunity is “suspension” of President Sunday Ossai by you and Obasi without entire Ndigbo in Lagos State and appointment of Chief Igbudu as “interim President”.

4 million Ndigbo live here. He who goes to equity must go with clean hands. Before you challenge or accuse chief Solomon and, or Oba Ojoto, kindly check yourself very well. As Jesus said, “if you’ve not sinned be ye the first to stone her”.. You can’t be accusing Chief Solomon, Ossai and Oba Ojoto of impunity while you’re doing same thing. Very bad.

On “organogram”: Ohanaeze is a federating States,elect their exco. Lagos is not a branch office of Enugu. UK, US, Anambra, cross river, Imo State all elect. Why not Lagos?

On “binding directives”: Directives must follow the Ohanaeze Constitution. And ohanaeze Lagos election done with Lagos by-law and Ohanaeze Enugu constitution before the Imeobi ratification of new Constitution. No constitution suspends elections indefinitely. That is ultra vires.

On “court order”: There are multiple suits and suits and orders. Which one do we believe in. Press statements are not judgments. We better wait for court to decide not media propaganda.

On “LGAs/LCDAs”: Ohanaeze world wide constitution and Lagos State by-law mandates LGA structures.

Organizing 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs is obedience, not rebellion. Reason our new President Oba Ojoto pledges to return power back the LGAs.

On “90 days from April 9”: 11 days gone. No guidelines, no committee, no timetable from GEC. A resolution without discussion, debate, listening to other side and action is void. We refused to be timed-out.

On “parallel structure”: There’s one Ohanaeze Lagos now headed by Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto) in Lagos State. The real parallel structure would be “Enugu” appointing another “President” after we already elected one on the 6th April ,2026.

Two things to take home:

1. Rule of law: Means obey all court judgments, allow room for appeals, stop media trials. Justice delayed is justice denied. Lagos has waited too long to get a President they voted themselves. A President they choose themselves. Thanks to the April 6th,2026 Election.

2. Authority: Must be earned. You don’t command respect from Lagos by excluding Lagos. Millions cannot be ruled without their consent. Ndigbo have made a choice. Ndigbo have chosen their leader Oga Ojoto.

We are not breaking away. We are checking in into new restructured and people centred Ohanaeze Ndigbo here in Lagos.
